Should I bother w/a glider?

I really wanted to get a gliding loveseat or chair and a half so DH and I could both sit on it.  Also, I figured something like that would grow with us.  I can see using it for story time when they're older.  But they are so expensive that I don't think it's in the cards for us.  So I'm wondering if I should even bother with a regular glider.  It seems like most MoMs end up using a sofa or bed to tandem BF.  And after they wean, I'm not sure it would be of any use.  Thoughts?

  • We are getting a loveseat for the nursery when we move.  Gliders are great but sometimes the tandem nursing pillow doesnt fit 'em, so you dont end up using it.

  • We just ordered ours last night; we splurged and got a really nice one that we can use in another part of the house once the babies are older.  DH and I both really wanted one to rock the babies in and for when I am pumping.  Good luck.

  • We have a rocking/reclining love seat in the living room so that was awesome. We also got a lay-z-boy glider swivel rocker for in the girls room. I would probably die without it. When we first put the girls in the crib, I wanted to sleep in there too, so I crashed in the rocker a couple times. Then I was so friggen tired that I went to my own bed across the hall... after two whole nights :-P

  • I love my glider and use it often with just one baby.
  • My kids LOVE the feel of the glider.  Jack loves to lay belly down on the ottoman and "fly".  He kick kick kicks and I push him ever so lightly.  Always watching him!!!  Molly loves to be cuddles up  and rocked in the glider, too.  More so than the rocker/recliner I got from lazyboy.
