i got a call from the new dermatologist yesterday cancelling my appt for this afternoon but the lady was nice enough to squeeze me in this morning.
the outcome of that appt was i get to make the decision to either take a pill once a week that may have possible side effects (like liver failure) or choose phototherapy- sticking my hands and feet in a box and receive narrow band UVB rays 2-3 times a week at the dr's office. what joy.
i asked the Dr. which he thought would be the best treatment but he couldn't say, his advice was that one might work, but if it didn't the other would but there was no way of knowing which would. supposedly they both have high success rates
they have to do a blood test before prescribing the drug (and have blood test periodically while on the drug too). i went ahead and did the initial blood test and when i get the results i'll guess make my decision then.
i also met with the coordinator for EI this morning. she was nice and the eval is set up for Jan 7th for Michael.
Re: decisions, decisions
good luck w/ your decision. Hopefully which ever you choose will help.
What is M going to EI for?
