Yes.  It could be a symbol that he wants to be together or a symbol of what the relationship represented in his life and that he is now moving on.

Last Christmas when we were separated but still married, XH bought me a set of pots and pans.  That was not so much a mixed message.

Maybe I'm just a cynical biatch, but my take is that he's giving you a nice gift out of guilt.

SD bought me a beautiful diamond circle pendant necklace valued at over $1,200 after he "almost" (haha) cheated on me just a few days before Christmas, when I was six weeks pregnant.  Know what I did with that necklace?  Returned it to Costco where he got it and put the money into my savings account.

I really didn't want to wear around an "I'm sorry I fvcked someone else necklace". 

If I were you I would keep it someplace safe, you never know when/if you might want to sell it.

Ya I guess you guys are right. Maybe I was hoping it was more than it is because I want us to fix work everything out. We are going to try. We even have a date night every week once we move out. Oh well I think I should stop trying to analize everything. Thanks ladies for your honnesty!

Isn't he still with the other woman? Who is buying your daughter xmas gifts? Has he agreed to stop seeing her?

My friend has been divorced for almost two years now after her husband, in a very obvious way, left her for another woman who he now lives with. He just bought my friend an expensive printer for xmas, saying it was from their son. She got all happy and hopeful, but I had to tell her I thought it was all about the guilt. Unlike my ex, her ex actually still feels really badly about what he did. However, he continues to live with the homewrecker. Your guy may not stop these kinds of mixed signals for a long time. It will be up to you to interpret them.
