I'm on a huge salad kick, especially after detoxing from 4 Christmas dinners so indulge me on your favorite salad.
Mine lately:
Spinach, shrimp, feta, grape tomatoes, almonds-- raspberry vinegarette.
Please help my body detox from Christmas.
Here is a super easy one but really good.
Romain lettuce, roughly chopped
1/2 grapefruit, sectioned, pith removed, chopped into bite size pieces
almond slivers
poppy seed dressing
optional--grilled chicken breast
The acidity of the grapefruit goes great with the sweetness of the poppy seed dressing. You have to try it to believe how good it is.
I just bought a ton of salad fixings myself.
My go to is: Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers and avocado chunks with a lemon vinegarette.
I think my salads may be as bad as a cheeseburger. I basically can't do rabbit food without huge amounts of cheese.
My faves:
cubed bread + cucumber chunks + tomato chunks + fresh mozzarella + vinaigrette
lettuce (any) + ham chunks + sharp cheddar + avocado + cucumber + ranch
I also do caesar with croutons, made by cubing french bread, tossed with olive oil + s+p + heaps of grated parmesan, and toasted on 350 for about 15 minutes.
mixed greens plus strawberries, pineapple, candied walnuts, feta cheese and champagne vinegarette.
