Well, I wrote earlier about having low fetal movement... I called my OB just to be on the safe side, and expected her to say that it is normal and not to be alarmed... Instead, she told me to go to the hospital, just to be on the safe side. And, that is pretty much when I freaked out.
I got hooked up to a fetal heart monitor for about 30 minutes, and the hb was great, around the 150s... However, they said that I had a contraction (I didn't feel it), and during the contraction the babies hb dropped into the 90s. Which is not good. So, they kept me around and did a biophysical profile (not a full one, because I am too early for a real one). So, they did an u/s where they were primarily looking for the amniotic fluid level. (The doctor said that a low amniotic fluid can be a reason for the babies hb to drop, b/c when you have the contraction, that causes compression on the cord.)
So, the results of the u/s said that the baby is measuring 26w2d... He said that was fine. However, my amniotic fluid level was 9.2 (normal is 7 to 24). He said that is okay, since technically it is in the normal range, however he wants me to have a follow-up u/s in about a week or two. I will have to call my OB tomorrow to see when she wants me to come in. (For anyone that didn't read the earlier post, I am out of town at the in-laws, which makes this even more fun.)
So, that is where we are. Trying to stay calm. I think that I will feel much better when I am back at home and with my OB again. The doctor was very nice and informative, but I *love* my OB. He said that there isn't a reason to be concerned right now, but we will just do the follow-up to be on the safe side.
Sorry for the long post again... ugh. I will try to get the weekly check-in for March up tomorrow. :-)
Re: Update
Thoughts and prayers to you.
Pump yourself full of water and get those feet up lady. My friends who have had low end fluid levels have always been told to drink as much water as they possibly can to help with the levels.
