Re: what do you need to prove income for c/s?

  • It's based off of MONTHLY gross income :-)

  • I understand it goes by your monthly gross income, my ? is where do they get the proof of that, a pay stub or your last year taxes?
  • Pay stub. Your taxes includes all your income. Pay stub only shows your monthly gross. They'd look at your taxes if they wanted to determine standard of living. Best advice is to keep your tax return our of it. It's like opening a can of worms.
  • thanks zoink... i didn't think bringing taxes were fair.. a pay stub is much better!!

  • honey, you really need to suck it up and go the lawyer route here.  You are getting to the fringe of what a message board should be effectively providing in the form of help.

Seriously, people. If your faith in humanity is destroyed because your parents told you there was a Santa Claus and as it turns out there is no Santa Claus, you are an ignorant, hypersensitive cry baby with absolutely zero perspective. - UnderwaterRhymes
  • Ours required tax returns and 3 months of paystubs, so I'd make sure you have both.

  • Our go by last years taxes.

  • I had to take 2 years tax returns, W-2, and current pay stubs.  The reason that you needed both is some employers give a large annual bonus.  The bonus needs to be calculated into c/s the same as base pay.
  • Many states do require that you bring taxes and bank statements even...they can ask for anything...but it is usually based off of monthly gross income though obviously there are always exceptions to that rule.
