Pregnant after a Loss

Help...my acne is out of control!

Over the past week I have woken up to more breakouts then I have ever had in my life! It looks like a combination of chicken pox and puberty setting in!  I use Cetaphil wash and lotion right now.  Is there anything safe that you ladies recommend?? I am willing to try anything at this point!  I plan on asking my dr when I go next Monday, but figured there might be something to try right now.  TIA! Hopefully this is just a 1st tri thing.

  • My Dr OK"d me to use Benzoyl Peroxide (topical gel/cream) since not much of it gets absorbed.  I really should be using it everyday. But I'm lazy.

  • my dr said that proactiv is fine. Thankfully once I got out of the 1st tri, both times, my skin cleared up magically. I actually feel confident enough to leave the house without make-up on now.

Yep, anything with benzoyl peroxide is fine.  I just bought Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment last week, and it has worked MIRACLES on my face.  I just made sure to wash my face really well first with my regular face wash, squeeze any of the yuckiness out of the zits that I could, dab with a bit of hydrogen peroxide for good measure, blot dry, then follow up with the acne cream.  I did this for 3 nights straight last week, and my face cleared right up!  It was amazing...my skin was so bad, I didn't think there was anything that could save it!  God, now I sound like a Proactiv commercial, ha!

  • My skin broke out really bad too (thankfully it is starting to get better).  The best thing I found was Acne Free.  You can get it at Target, but I've seen it at some grocery stores as well.  I believe it is just knock-off Proactiv.  The main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, and a benefit of not getting Proactiv is it's cheaper and you don't get the automatic refills mailed (and charged) to you.  I found my acne to be strangely comforting, even though it was hideous.  :)

  • Thanks ladies!  I will be looking for some stuff mentioned while out today!
