Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

nausea?

Did anyone experience a lot of nausea after a d&c?  It has been 5 days.  I have been more nauseated the last 2 days than when I was pregnant.  Maybe it is my hormones adjusting?  I am supposed to take motrin 3 times a day and am eating when I take it. So, I am not sure if it is upsetting my stomach.  Anyone else experience this?

Re: nausea?

  • I had a d & e at 22 1/2 weeks--but i know the nausea i felt afterwards was awful--and it was a couple of days after.  i actually had to take a zofran i believe one of those days to help.  i remember someone saying it was the hormones regulating.  but i wasn't eating either, and had to take the motrim 3x a day--so i guess what i'm trying to say is that i've felt nauseous under the same circumstances too!  It'll end soon!  Feel better!

  • I didn't experience any nausea, so I have nothing to add on that, but I'm sure everyone's body responds differently to hormonal changes.

I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for your losses and that the picture of your little angel Ella is so beautiful.  I also love her name.

Hang in there.  It's almost 2011.  I'm counting on that being a much better year for all of us!

  • I didn't have any nausea after, but I had stomach cramping and bleeding for about 10 days following my d/c. But, as someone else said, everyone's body reacts different to the procedure, and your body is trying to flush things out and get back to normal. My OB said that I would have pregnancy symptoms for 7-12 days following. Hope it gets better for you...drink gingerale, have some toast. Take it easy! Good luck, and I'm sorry for your loss.
