When did your doc take you off progesterone?

I was talking to the nurse at my RE's office today about how I'm concerned about the spotting that my progesterone suppositories cause, and she said that I'd be coming off the progesterone soon anyway - that my RE takes people off around 8 weeks (I'm 7w 2d today). That seems early to me, I feel like most people on here stay through 12 weeks, or through 1st tri. What did you do?

ETA: Did they do any testing before taking you off? Or was it just BAM off and hope it went well?

No testing. We went from twice a day to once a day at 9 weeks, then to every other day for another week, then done. So I was totally off them by 11 weeks or so.

At that point, the placenta is producing so much progesterone, that there really is no longer a point to the suppliments.

No testing. They told me I could stop around 10ish weeks. I had extra, so I just stayed on them until I ran out after 12 weeks.

My doc has told me that I can stop taking them at 12 weeks, however, I'm uber-paranoid and will probably insist on having my levels tested and depending on how they are I will continue to use them. But, don't listen to me, I'm nuts.

My doctor said I could go off them at 12 weeks, but I still have a couple more left so I am going to use those up and then I am happy to be DONE!!! I have only had my progesterone tested once this pregnancy, and that was before I even got my BFP. I had it tested at around 5dpo and it came in at 20 without the supplements, and then I started the supplements at around 6dpo just as a precaution if I were to be pregnant because I had low progesterone in the past.

I went off at 13 weeks even though my OB said I could stop them a couple weeks earlier. Even though I was so ready to be done with them and the mess, but I was an emotional wreck going off of them. If you aren't comfortable going off of them, talk to your OB about keeping you on them longer. GL!

My dr told me I would take them until I'm 12 weeks.

Ditto on Dr said to decrease after 9 wks to once a day and then once every other day till the supps were gone. I'll be 11 ish weeks when I'm done.

No testing.

My RE stoped it at 12 weeks or as soon as you ran out after (I think I was 12 w 3 or 4 days).

I am only at 8 weeks today, but the plan is to stick with 2 times a day until week 10 when I will go to just 1 pill a night for a week, so I'll be off them when I hit 11 weeks. I'm done with the RE so I know they don't plan to do any bloodwork. I don't know for sure if the regular OBGYN will want to.

I am taking my last two pills of prometrium tonight!!! So dang excited! My doc said I could stop at 13 weeks and I had a few extra nights of pills left. They are not testing the level because they said the placenta has safely taken over at this point in the pregnancy.
