Anyone's DD have an interactive doll?

I usually hang out over on the 12-24 board and adoption board, but I figured since many of you have DDs that are older, you might have more insight.

DD's 2nd birthday is next month (gulp) and I want to get her an interactive doll (pees, eats, makes noises or talks) but there are SO many out there, I am getting confused.

Does anyone's LO have one? Which one do you like?

Thanks for the help- I appreciate it!

Re: Anyone's DD have an interactive doll?

  • She has a couple...one that plays peek a boo.  It's alright...it's completely plastic and not very soft and cuddly.  Then she has a Baby Alive that she's barely played with at all...again, big, plastic and not cuddly.  My Mom got her a different one that's partly stuffed with a plastic head and that thing talks nonstop.  DS said, "Tell that kid to get quiet!  We're playing the quiet game!  I don't like that new doll!"  So, I've turned it completely off.  I wish I could think of the name of it.  It doesn't pee or eat though.

  • DD got a baby alive for her birthday.  It drinks and pees.  It was fun for about a day.
  • DD has the baby alive, that eats bananas and drinks. It does not pee or poop. She got it for Christmas, she was playing w/ it this morning before we left and she took it w/ to my grandmas.

  • We have several--the crawling one (is that a baby alive?). I don't know if they still sell it. Bella loved it when she was younger and now Maile loves it. Bella just got the bouncing babbles and hasn't put it down since Christmas Day. They have some other generic ones that cry and say mama and stuff and they love it. They have one baby that pees and comes with a potty. I haven't tried it out yet :)
  • Thanks! I am wondering if the one that poops/pees is worth the effort, especially since they are not very cuddly at all and are somewhat heavy (from what it looks like in the description of the doll). DD is almost 2, but is thin, and not very big, so for her to carry around a 4 pound doll, that might not be best.

Baby Alive is a brand of dolls.  The big one, you feed and water and it poops and pees.  I make baking soda "baby food" for it.  There are a number of others.  We have 3 or 4 of them.  One is a "starter" baby alive and it is soft.  There are quite a few to chose from.  My DD has a boat load of dolls and she likes those best.

  • My kids LOVE their baby alive dolls.
  • My four yr old DDhas the baby alive... She had the one that comes with the doc. kit... She loves it but she is also in to nurses and doctors... I guess it all depends on what your DD likes. But the baby alive is awesome!
