Excited and Sad...

A friend of mine announced her pregnancy at Christmas.  She was married Sept. 24 and they wanted to start trying asap and they got pg the first time!  She had childhood cancer and there was a concern it might be difficult for them...

I am very excited for them but admittedlykind of bummed for me and DH...Is it wrong to feel like I was punched in the gut? I really am very happy for them - this is all she ever wanted, but it was still hard to hear since it just seemed so easy for them and has been more of a test of patience for us thus far...

It's okay to feel bummed that it's not your announcement. Just keep things in perspective. This is her baby. You will have yours. Her having a baby has no bearing on your getting pregnant and having your baby.

I think it is natural.  Our friends, who don't have the most successful of marriages, just announced they are pregnant with their second on Christmas.  It pretty much drove me to tears.
