Please help - our cloth diapers keep staining and I have no idea how to stop it! We have used kissaluvs fitteds and fuzzibuns and both stain when they get poopy.
I throw dirty diapers in a wet bag without rinsing them and wash them (cold rinse first, then on hot with Rockin' Green detergent). Sometimes they don't get washed right away...
What am I supposed to be doing to make sure there aren't poop stains?
Thank you!!

Um, stop feeding your kid?
Seriously, stains happen. And it's no biggie. No one is going to be staring at the stained inside of your kid's CD that's going to get pooped on again. They're still clean even if they're stained. If you're that concerned, sun them a few times and the stains will go away.
I always rinsed my BM diapers (when he got older and it became more solid - it generally plopped off without staining). I really love the BG diaper sprayer (attaches to the toilet).
I also generally always wash within 3 days but sometimes go as long as 5. No stains after 20 months.
I HATE poop stains. I have OCD and it really bothers me. This is what I do and so far only one stain that lasted through one wash and dry cycle (it was gone after the next wash).
My LO is EBF and just starting rice cereal FWIW.
I have a HE front load washing machine.
1) Take off dirty diaper (pockets) take out inserts throw all into wet bag without rinsing.
2) On diaper laundry day (about every 3 days) dump diapers, inserts, and wetbag into the washer with 1/2 C of borax OR 1/4 C of OxyClean (whatever I happen to have that week) and ALL Free and Clear Small and Mighty detergent to the 1 line. Rinse with warm water no spin cycle.
3) Use AFCSM to the 1 line and set washer to whitest white setting (hot wash, cold rinse, extra rinse) on heavy soil level (adds more water and stronger agitation) and fill the fabric softener compartment with vinegar.
4) Line dry in the sun for one to two days depending on humidity level that day.
FYI, I would not recommend regular usage of borax or OxyClean on pockets or anything else containing PUL (AIOs, covers, etc.). They both void most warranties, because they break down PUL. Every once in a while is OK, but not every time you do diaper laundry.
Personally, I'm in the "stains happen" camp. Some diapers and some poops stain worse than others. Most stains fade within a few regular washes. Worse comes to worse, I've never seen a stain that doesn't come out after a few hours in the sun, no matter how old it is.
