I'm sure it has already been asked, but I can't get the search feature to work for me. I have my test tomorrow at 9am. The instructions the OB gave me said I can eat normally before I drink the orange stuff. But, during my 1st pregnancy, I thought I wasn't able to eat before taking it. So what's the deal?

Exactly, you can't trick the test, and you don't want to either. You want the most accurate reading so you can take care of the GD if you have it.
Since your doc didn't state any special eating/fasting instructions for the test, then eat as you normally would. Good luck!!
You're right, it's definitely not a good idea to try to trick the test.
But remember, different doctor's offices have different criteria for the test. Some tell you to fast, some tell you to eat normally, some tell you to avoid eating any sugary foods... Not all offices are looking for the same number, and I would imagine if your office asks you to fast, they're looking for a lower number than an office that advises you to eat normally.
So it is pretty important that you follow the specific instructions you got from your doctor. OP, if you are unsure, you should call. You don't want to skew the results...
OP mentioned the doctor already gave her instructions to eat normally, so she shouldn't fast or only eat certain foods just for this test (as other PPs mentioned).
OP, as I stated above, do as your doctor said for this test. I had GD with my first pregnancy and for each test, I did exactly as my doctor told me to. Eating differently or trying to trick the test (not saying you would do that) might affect the initial test results, but won't change whether or not you have GD.
Each doctor has different instructions, but if you want to know why the instructions were different this time than your last pregnancy, call the dr office and ask to make sure so you're not confused. Again, good luck!
This is also what mine told me. Mine is tomorrow at 2:30 PM.
