Cyst removal

Hi ladies..not sure if anyone has experienced this before?  I've had 3 ultrasounds since visiting with my RE (day 3's) and each time the same cyst would show up.  The first time he thought it would go away on it's own, after the 3rd he said I needed surgery to remove it.  I go in Tuesday for the consultation appointment with the surgeon.  I have googled the heck out of it (my cyst is 4cm) and I'm pretty nervous.  Has anyone had to go through this?  He believes it may have something to do with my wacky cycles and my LP deficiency (3 day LP..great!).   Thanks for any input.

I had functional cysts and they went away after a couple of cycles.  I also have a paratubal cyst which is not on the ovary that neither of my RE's have been concerned with.  Try not to worry yet.  I hope you can get some answers from the surgeon.  Good Luck!

My DD had an ovarian cyst, but I am not sure what kind, or even it's measurement - it was the size of a small apple though.  She had laproscopic surgery and it took her about a week to recover.  Hope yours is quick and easy to have taken care of.

Thank you.  This one is on my ovary and unfortunately not going away on it's on.   I guess I will find out on Tuesday what type of surgery I will need.  Hopefully not a week off of work, but I will do whatever it takes to get my body ready to be pregnant again.

I've had cysts before, but they have gone away with birth control.  My sister had a 9lb cyst on her ovary and had it surgically removed.

Oh my gosh!  My RE at first thought birth control, then he called me back and said that he wanted me to have it surgically removed.

My 1st cycle of Injectables I had a 18mm and 22 mm cyst in each overy which they put me on BCP and they went away.

I hope things go smooth.

I had a cyst surgically removed last month.  It was going away on its own, but he decided to remove it surgically since I was already going under for laparoscopic surgery to check for endo.  He removed the one cyst and also removed two more endomtrioma cysts he found on each ovary.  Good luck with everything!

I don't have any experience with cysts, I just wanted to say GL and I hope the surgery/ recovery is easy for you.

Thank you.  I went today for my consultation appointment.  Tomorrow the surgeons scheduler will call me and we will either do it next Wednesday or Friday.  She said to plan to take a week off of work, but I may be able to go back sooner.  Thanks for all the responses, I'm sure everything will be ok
