I was just saying to dh yesterday about how those are "one timers"... he's like you can totally use the "Who needs Santa when I have Grandma" shirt again...um, not so much!

The things that were really special like his Christmas pjs and Christmas Day outfit, are stored away for him to take when he moves out or gets married. I hang his 1st Christmas ornament on the tree each year and I have the duplicate one that we received from a friend stored away for him as well.

I made a "Memory Box" for Emma and Josh and in the box, I put stuff like first ultrasound pic, cards, hospital bracelets, sealed letters I wrote to them. I also put all of their "first" stuff (bibs, shirts, etc) I figure it will be a nice memory box for them to open in the future (10 years old?)

I saved them, but then again, I am a saver, and a big sap to boot. I have yet to get rid of any of the kids' clothes, and it is not very likely that we'll have any more children.....I just can't bear to part with them. DH is likely to make me do something about that come "spring cleaning".
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
i can't stand all that stuff b/c it's wasted after 1 day...
i take pictures of them with it- and then get rid of it... consign, give to another twin mom having babies soon, yard sale, ect.
i don't need items for memories- i have pics for that.
the only things i have saved for them are their coming home outfits- b/c it's fun to see how small they were when they were born... and baptism outfits- b/c they might want their own sons to wear it.
I'm saving them and putting them away for when they are grown. My mom saved most, if not all of my smocked dresses and it's so neat to have DD wear them now. She came home in the dress I wore home from the hospital and I hope that if she has a daughter, it can be worn for a third generation. But I'm a sap like that.

MIL saved Dh's baptism outfit from 30 some years ago...and the boys wore them. Harry wore his daddy's hat and Alex wore his daddy's vest. It was such a nice personal touch!
We couldn't cram any of them in dh's actual outfit because dh was a premmie and the boys (even being twins) were a lot bigger than him!

basically this.. the box is a tote:)
I figure they can have it when they are old and grown to look back on.
We kept very minimal items from DD's first year. Only ones that had an emotional connection to.
DH's mom kept EVERYTHING!! I now have boxes upon boxes of stuff that just collects dust and takes up space in our storage area. DH has not once looked through them or felt the emotional need to look at his onesie from his first Christmas. I can't throw it away either as DH's mom would probably throw a fit.
Re: what will you do with all your babies first xmas items?
I put them away...
