Does anyone know if BCBS Community Blue covers any portion of the purchase of a breast pump. I'll call this week to find out for sure but I was wondering if anyone had used their insurance to cover it.
Let me clarify that I'm asking specifically if anyone has Community Blue (through BCBS) and used it to get a breast pump. I read the post below and see that the MESSA BCBS holders were able to do so, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had success this way.
Mine covers the whole thing. I called to double check, and all I have to do is pick it up from a supplier who is in the network. I checked this online, but if it's confusing you can just call.

You'll have to call BCBS and ask what your specific plan covers. The 1-800 number on the back of the card is pretty good- I've called before to check if certain things were covered and they're usually pretty quick. No two insurance plans are the same, so what's covered and how much is covered will depend on your specific insurance plan.

I would call and confirm and a nurse/lactation consultant can order it for you in the hospital so it gets delivered there so you don't have to pick it up elsewhere. We have MESSA and they covered 100%
We have BCBS Federal and it was covered 100% BUT only because we had a rx from my ob and because DD was 11 weeks early. If it wasn't for those 2 things it wouldn't be covered.
Re: BCBS breast pump coverage?
I would call your dr and ask, they might have better experience with dealing with what types of insurance pays and what doesn't.
