Do you have any snow yet? Are they calling for a lot of snow? My parents are on the road on the way here. They left a day early as they are calling for snow back home tonight, so they are trying to miss as much snow as they can. They are driving from PEI, Canada to PA.
I would just like to give them an update on weather if I can. It looks like in MA maybe the only place they may run into snow.
Re: Anyone live in Boston, MA area?
there was a little earlier but here (eastern mass north of boston) the real snow hasn't started yet. they said not till 4 or 5 with the worst after 10pm so hopefully they're through by then. we're expecting 14-20"!!
do they live in PEI?? i'd *love* to go sometime but it's such a long drive!

Thanks ladies,
I think the are going to stay in ME tonight and do what they can tomorrow so I hope that the snow will be done by the time they get to MA. I know they hope to make it here by tomorrow if they can the usually do it in two days.
lytedark, They do live in PEI that is were I grew up. I love it there the summers are great. It is a long drive but it would be about 6 hours less for you than us coming from PA. July is usually the best time to go if you want warm weather, as the summers aren't very hot and sometimes we don't have much summer weather. We use to do it in one go but you are always so tired when you get there that we have started staying overnight somewhere in ME. If you ever go let me you and I will send you to some really nice places.
DH & I visited friends in PEI a couple years ago (in August). Beautiful place! (DH still talks about the Gahan House. lol) I will say it was a drive I don't feel the need to do again (14 hours straight!). I will definitely agree that it needs to be broken up.
OP, They should wait until the afternoon before starting out again tomorrow. DH plows (been out for hours already) so the weather channel is on constantly here. It's been declared State of Emergency in MA. It's stretching across NE so Maine will be getting alot as well (between a foot/foot & a half).
Hope your folks get there safe.

Thanks everyone for the updates. If you don't mind keeping me posted what it is like in the am that would be great. I just talked to my parents and they are staying in ME tonight (it has already started snowing there pretty good)
I have a feeling that they will not get very far tomorrow.
Octgirl 80 I hope your DH is safe out there on the roads. I know plowing isn't an easy job.
I agree with you about the Gahan House.
He's out with BIL, so even though I don't get to hear from him, I know if something happened BIL would call me and let me know. It's a "no news is good news" mentality, but it works. Besides, I feel better knowing he's paying attention to what he's doing and not chatting on the phone.
Here's a link that will give you updates: https://www.necn.com/
It's what DH, BIL & the rest live by when they want to check the weather. They update the videos/radars every so often so it's pretty current and covers New England.

I made it past my goal I nursed for 1 year and 6 weeks! Im so proud of myself!
Sent you a PM!
dh had to get out to work this morn and said the highways weren't too bad (though he also had our 4 wheel drive vehicle) and while the wind is still nutty, they snow has lightened here quite a bit at least so hopefully they will be able to make their way to you later today!
and i will totally keep you in mind if we're ever able to make the trip to PEI. i'm also one of the (prob annoying to you lol) crazy big anne of green gables/LM Montgomery fans too but have only heard how awesome and beautiful a place it is from people who have been! how long is your drive from PA??
