more than one set of twins, naturally?  I am a fraternal twin, but had identical twins.  I got pregnant the first try  I would love to have another baby, however we are waiting a while because I am scared of having another set of twins!!!  I love my guys and wouldnt trade them for the world. I love having twins, i just dont think we can financially swing another set. We would need a bigger house too.

ID's are said to be a fluke, so you wouldn't have a higher chance of having a 2nd set because of your first set.  You are more likely to have fraternal twins since they do run in your family.

your chances if having another set of IDs are virtually zip, but since frats "run in your family", you have an increased chance of carrying the same gene that caused your mother to release multiple eggs.?

I've read a woman's chance of having two sets of ID twins is 1 in 70,000. I did grow up with a family with two sets of ID twins. But yeah, like pp said your odds are higher because fraternals run in your family. If I were you I would wait a couple more years just in case you do have twins again, so you won't have 4 under 2.

My mother actually works with someone who has had 2 sets of ID twins back to back. I guess if the chances of that happening are 1 in 70,000, they should be buying lottery tickets by the truckload!

But as PP have said, ID twins are a fluke. I think I read stat somewhere that said that every pregnancy has approximately a 1 in 250 chance of resulting in ID twins. Genetics do play a role in fraternal twins though, so you could definitely end up with a set of fraternal twins next time. GL!

I have a high school friend that also has two sets of ID twins back to back. I couldn't imagine! She got pregnant a third time and it was a singleton. I would be SO worried of having another set I don't think I could even fathom trying for just ONE MORE ;-)
