how contagious is she???

Tay woke up this morning with a fever and throwing up.  She threw up once and that was it.  She laid around this morning, probably from waking up so early, but since then has been fine.  Fever seems to be gone too.  But she does have a rash all over her torso.

I was planning on staying home with her and skipping the Eve festivities at my IL's. I don't want to be "that" relative that brings the sick kids.

By my MIL is not happy about this since they are hosting the party.  DH has already left with the other two, and they keep asking us to go.

Soooo, I'm thinking of just taking her over when Santa comes and for a quick dinner...then come back home.  They live 5 minutes away, Tay REALLLLLY wants to go the entire time.

Sooo...am I going to be the jerk or do you think its ok to pop over there??

  • I would not go. My friends were at a party with a kid who was throwing up the entire evening before and both of their kids got sick the next day. Stay home and don't get anyone else sick.

  • I wouldnt go. How would you feel if somebody brought their child w a fever, rash, and vomiting? Keep her home so she can be feeling better for tomorrow. Your inlaws will get over it. Why expose her to other germs or others to her?! Stay put. Hope she feels better.
  • NO!  You may not go.  Seriously, some one came to my Halloween part with a kid who had vomited 1X early in the day, and 10 people had the virus 48 hours later, and it continued to spread from there.  Stay home please.
  • Sorry to say this but you need to stay home. If I was at the gathering and found out someone knowingly brought a sick child, I would be upset.

  • I wouldn't go either.  I hope she gets past it soon and no one else gets it!!  Brooke had a fever the last two days and two weeks ago Ethan did too.  Two days of a fever is all it amounted to thank goodness.
  • Noooo you can't go.  totally not fair exposing other kids to illness on Christmas eve!
