Prog supps? (ticker/pic inside)

Hi ladies! I was hoping you all could calm my nerves a bit. With DD, she was *kind of* a surprise BFP, so I didn't use any prog. This time around, I am using them. I got pg in August and used them and had a c/p, then felt superstitious about using them for cycle 2 and had a BFN. I'll be using them again this cycle, but want to confirm that the supps have no impact on BFP/BFN. If the egg doesn't fertilize, progesterone won't change that - it can only help support an egg that's already been fertilized. Right?

I know this is so backwards, but I didn't use them one cycle and had my daughter, then used them and lost the baby, so it's just one of those mental things.

  • Didn't your doctor advise you on how/when to use them?

  • Prog will have no impact.  It will only help your embryo stay put.

  • Ditto jennype.  I've used Prog supps in all my cycles, but their purpose was to keept he embryo in place once implantation happened.  It may be a good idea to ask one of the nurses/NPs at your RE's office for some more information about Prog suppositories.

Thanks :) I know rationally how they work, just can't seem to get the message to the irrational side of my brain.
