Brief labor & delivery story:

Came in with tons of contractions early tuesday morning, dilated at a 2 when they checked me when i came in. Before they got the chance to check me again an hour later to see if i was in fact in labor, my water broke. I was admitted to L&D about 10 mins later.

After about an hour i hadnt dilated any further so they started me on a pitocin drip to get things going. Not until almost 24 hours after my water broke did they get my contractions regular and to where they wanted them but then baby wasnt tolerating them when they had. even though im GB-strep positive they let me labor a couple hours further bc i wasnt showing any signs of infection. My labor wasnt bad at all on a scale of 1-10 pain wise my pain never got over a 5.

After laboring for 28 hours with a heavy pitocin drip and hadnt even dilated a full cm they decided it would be best for a c-section as to not risk infection.

So they prepped me for c-section at 12:30pm, gave me an epidural (which wasnt as bad as i thought it would be) and started c-section at 12:40pm. Hayden was born at 12:42. He cried right away. He weighed in at 8 pounds and is 21 inches long.

It took them about 15 mins to stitch me back up after, which went by very fast after they got him out and i heard him cry and got to see him. Spent 2 hours down stairs before they moved me upstairs to recovery.

He loved his first bath and it didnt even phase him when they took his blood. He was such a trooper. He's a perfectly happy and healthy little boy.
