UTI or ?? after D&C (TMI!)

Okay this is going to be TMI but I want to ask and don't see the Dr. for post-op until Monday. I had a d&c on Friday and barely had any bleeding.  Wore pantyliners for a few days with just a little spotting and had some cramping for a few days but that's all.  Well for the past few days I've noticed:

1. I'm really sore (almost like I've had too much or really rough sex, again sorry for the TMI) but obviously no have not had sex since right before I found out we lost our baby

2. A gross smell and kind of a burning feeling when I pee

This is the first time I've had a d&c (had a natural m/c in Sept) so just wondering if any of you have experienced anything like this? This was never mentioned as a side effect from the d&c.

Did they give you a catheter during your D&C? That would explain the burning feeling when you pee.  I had an U/S at the ER once and they cathed me and that is exactly how it felt.  The thing that concerns me though is the smell. Smell usually indicates some sort of infection.  I would call the doctor and explain and maybe they can get you in for a quick urine test to see if you have  UTI and get you on antibiotics asap (because if it IS a UTI it will only get worse and if it gets into your bladder you're talking about bloating, paint, backache... it's not fun...)  Sometimes doctors will give you antibiotics over the phone, so maybe you'll get lucky with that.  If you can't get in, you can get Uristat over the counter which will help with the burning pain, though keep in mind this will not cure it, it will only help alleviate some of the pain, and it will turn your pee bright orange (and the pee will stain panties, and if you sweat you can sweat orange too... how fun lol) I know I sound like an expert, LOL I've had a UTI once before and my sister gets them all the time.  call your doc, with any luck it's simple as some antibiotics which will kick it pretty quick. Sorry for your pain!!!  Feel better!

I had 2 D&C's back in August and after both I had that really sore feeling, esp with my inner thighs. I was told it was the positioning during the procedure that can cause that.  I cant remember the burning feeling so I agree with the PP that you should talk to your Dr. about an antibiotic. Did they send you home on Doxycycline after the procedure?? I am a veterinarian and I know in our furbabies Doxy doesnt acheive adequate concentration in their urine so maybe he will switch antibiotics for you. I hope you feel better fast!!
