Anyone else get depressed around the holidays?

I don't get depressed really but I get sad, which is odd to me because from Sept on is my favorite time of year. I love everything Holiday. I get sad because I think of the people who have lost so much or can't give gifts or food to their children, people who are away from their loved ones and want nothing more but to be with them, the single mom/ dad who works a double on thier religous holiday to pay bills. I could go on and on. I think about that all year but more so around the holidays. Anyone else feel this way? Make me feel really thankful for even the smallest things.

As an ER nurse who sees lots of people in psychiatric crises, I can tell you that you are definitely not alone.  Lots of people reflect on loved ones they have lost (among other things) and it becomes especially hard around the holidays.

I feel sad for those people who are dealing with those hardships. I'm sure you see a lot!
