Ok, so "normally" we open all of our gifts on Christmas Day. This year we're SS. My mom gave us our gifts on 12/8 and we opened them then (we play World of Warcraft & she got us the expansion & giftcards from BestBuy). We got gifts from my MIL & her BF last week. DH decided 2 nights ago that we should open them "just incase something needed to be returned". We are not exchanging gifts this year, so the only Christmas gifts WE will be opening on Christmas is whatever we got from my brother & SIL.
DH told me last night that he doesn't want to celebrate Christmas this year. He said he feels like Christmas should be for children (rather than adults, since for many people it's become all about the gifts) & that he doesn't have any reason to celebrate this year. Oh & Merry Christmas to us, SIL is pregnant after only trying for 3 cycles.

We usually open them on Christmas, but this year we are doing Christmas with MIL tonight. My family tomorrow evening, DH and I will open gifts to each other on the 24th and he will have to stay home to work at the hospital and I will go for the weekend to my grandparents.
All day Christmas Eve and Christmas day. We go to my mom's house Christmas eve morning and my aunt's house Christmas eve night. Then we go to my dad's house on Christmas day morning and my IL's house Christmas day night

When I was a kid, we opened 'family' gifts on Christmas Eve, and "Santa" gifts on Christmas Day. We are changng things a bit this year. Apparantly, my brother and his kids are visiting my mom during the day, so they will open gifts then (I don't want to see him, so I'm not planning on attending). Then my mom and other brother and his son will be here, so, that evening we will open gifts. My nephew will basically get to open gifts all day Christmas Eve, AND All day Christmas Day, because after he opens Santa gifts Christmas morning, he'll be going to his other grandmother's house to get gifts there, then she's taking him to visit his mom. Spoiled, lucky kid! LoL

I voted SS. We open on christmas eve, but it depends on how long we can wait it out. If it can hold out, it is usually at least midnight. We do christmas with DH's parents at there cabin. We usually spend time with my family christmas eve for dinner then head up to the cabin after.

My family is strange. My DH's birthday is 12-16 and my FIL's birthday is 12-25. We do gift exchanges on Winter Solstice 12-21 so that it is a celebration of winter and not an interference to either of their birthday's. I like it, 'cause I can never wait for Christmas. We do extended family visits for the holidays after Christmas.

Christmas morning (and earrrrrrrly because DH is always really antsy) is reserved for my time with DH.
Afternoon (usually around noon) we celebrate with my family.
Evening (usually around 4 or 5) we celebrate with DH's mom and his sister's family.
