No, not at all. I have my frumpy days/weeks/months, too. No big deal, and if they're happy, who cares? I do judge people who say they never have time to shower, though. If they don't want to wear makeup or fix their hair, who cares?
ditto ghm...there is a difference between hygeine (showering, wearing deoderant) and just being frumpy (not the latest clothes, no makeup) As long as you are clean, I don't care if you chose to wear Yoga pants to Target and to pick up your kids from school....thats usually what I'm wearing!
I think I do, now that you ask. But, I only do for women have two kids or less. I have two kids, and manage to do my hair and makeup every single day. No exceptions. It makes me feel more like a woman, and less like a mom hag. I know plenty of moms who just don't wear makeup, which is fine, but still get dressed and at least brush their hair.
I guess you'd have to define what "frumpy" means to you.
I guess it depends on the definition of frumpy. For the most part I don't. I am a mom that wears sweats to go grocery shopping or sweatshirt and jeans. I put my hair up and a lot of the time don't wear makeup. BUT I am showered, washed, deoderant etc.
I used to be the kind of person who could never go out without makeup and had to wash my hair everyday. Lately, I have been giving my face and hair a break. I just feel like I have to have a day with no makeup to feel like my face is completely fresh and clean. Even when I am "frumpy", I still make sure I look kept up.
I saw one lady in Target the otehr day who CLEARLY di not brush her hair. She had a big tangled ball in the back of her head.

So it's okay for me to be frumpy? lol.
I guess I kinda do....I can manage to get all my kids presentable, and to the store will still being a little put together....I nearly always have on jeans and T/sweater, my hair is always combed and usually pulled back.
But....my definition of frumpy is being in total disarray. Like way oversized sweats, holey shirt, uncombed hair....
But maybe I'm frumpy to others since I don't have my makeup totally done and wearing heeled boots. Apples & oranges.

HA! It's totally okay for you to be frumpy! There's no way I could manage any more than the 2 I have. I just don't have it in me!
But, I agree with your definition of frumpy. That's what I meant. You can still be pulled together without having a full face of makeup, or a heels.
I would prob. (sadly) describe myself as frumpy often. I'm a little overweight and therefore not comfortable shopping/buying new clothes. I wear some pretty boring things on many days. They're clean and fit, but not necessarily very stylish.
it's interesting to hear people's responses b/c I never leave the house unshowered or without a little bit of makeup -- so by those standards, not frumpy - but by my own standards - a little "behind the times" fashion wise - then yes frumpy!
No, I wouldn't say I judge them, I just think maybe it's more their personal style. I shower, and do makeup every day, skinny jeans, knee high (flat!) boots, etc but that's just me, and it makes me feel good to be put together. However, I have a great mom friend, who might be considered 'frumpy" -but she never looks unkempt- it's just more of her style to dress down and wear no makeup.

but you give some of the most level-headed advice on here ... i think you're doing something right no matter what you think you look like.

That was me way dressed up!
Usually I'm in yoga pants and a t-shirt and I never wear make-up.
I'm jealous of people who don't have to wear a stitch of makeup. And sometimes those that can wash their hair and let it air dry and just go.
I wonder how many judge nonfrumpy moms.?
