____ley haters, please enter!

I know alot of you do NOT enjoy the Finley/Hadley/etc. names.

 

BUT, I wanted to ask you this.... If the baby (Girl) name is FORSURE going to be a name like that, which do you think sounds better.... a one or two syllable middle name?

Last name is one-syllable. 

 

Just wanting some different opinions on a middle name from those how LIKE the "ley" names and those who don't!

My personal preference would be for a three-syllable middle name, if the first and last names will both have two-syllables. However, of your choices, one-syllable is the best choice. The variance in syllables creates much better flow (especially for girls' names) than having three names with the exact same syllable count.

we liked Finnley James for a boy, so I assume I'm a one syllable person. We have hyphened last name tho, so it's a little different.

For me it depends on the name more than the number of syllables. Our DD is Hadley Katherine with 3 syllable last name. But I also considered Hadley Grace...

my daughter is hadley isabel...  our other choice was hadley cate.  so, my vote is one or three...

I like shorter names with variety in syllables: 1, 2, 1 will be ours because we have a 1 syl last name.  My name growing up was 2,1,2 and I was always happy.

1 or 3. I have a -ley name myself and a 1 syllable mn- Lesley Ann. I don't have a problem with -ley names myself and didn't realize there were haters. I just can't use them because I have a two syllable -ley last (married) name and it makes my full name sound ridiculously rhymey.
