I don't have to with this OB, but with my first one (that I never saw) I told her I didn't know when my last period was because I wanted an u/s. I left that practice because they were horrible just as a gyno and I didn't want to deal with that. This time if I call in with a question about a weird feeling they have me come in. I swear if I said my hair hurt they'd get me in. lol
I really wouldn't. If I had a doctor that couldn't either talk me off the ledge or fit me in, I'd look for another doctor.

Goodbye our sweet little peanut. We love you so. Every lament is a love song...

LOL! I guess this is my problem. My doctor really tries to talk me off the ledge, but I hang on tight! I love my doctor, though; its just hard to remember that if he's not worried, I should calm down.

No, because those appointments are kept open for people with emergencies and such.
I've been one of those emergencies before and wouldn't want to have to make someone with that kind of situation wait longer for their appointment because I needed reassurance.
I had the smallest, most ridiculous amount of pink CM around 4-5 weeks. I tried to talk the nurse into letting me have an u/s. I was somewhat concerned about the spotting, but mostly I just wanted an early u/s.
The nurse totally called me out on what I was doing. She told me to knock it off and she was making me wait until around 6 weeks so we were sure to see a h/b and wouldn't worry even more. It was absolutely the right decision on her part and that is why I love this nurse.

my dr tells me at every appointment what she's feeling regarding this pregnancy and it has helped so much. Before we hit 28w she would say that she's very pleased. At the 28w appointment, she said "I have to be honest, I've been worried this whole time, but after this appointment I feel so much better." That helped me so much!

This.
I would be furious if my doctor ever lied to me, so I think it only right to afford him the same courtesy. If I need to come in for reassurance, I tell them that and they work me in when they can, rather than hustling me in for an emergency scan, when that time should go to someone with an actual emergency.
Being high risk with ID twins, if I can't wait 2 weeks between u/s's, then I feel like I have bigger problems! But if this wasn't a high-risk pregnancy, I still wouldn't lie. That always seems to cause problems and I wouldn't want my office to think I was "crying wolf" if a real emergency came up!

Exactly. I'm not above begging or sounding super needy, but I won't lie to get in.

Never. It's just bad juju. I feel like it's unfair to your doctor, and the other patients, it makes you look bad because they are not stupid, they can tell when stuff is embellished. I am not a complainer. I actually hate that I am high risk, I hate that I need extra attention, and I hate the reason for it.

I didn't lie, but I wasn't really as worried as i made it seem...I had 2 little brownish spots in the toilet, (didn't really think it qualified as spotting as I didn't know if it came from my urine or not) But they didn't get me in any earlier anyway

Yep this. If a "real" emergency came up, I wouldn't want them to think "oh, she's probably just overreacting again....we'll get her in next week if there's an opening."

If I had to in the begining, I would have told this lie. This wouldn't take an emergency slot (I don't think). I couldn't bring myself to lie about having an emeregency situation when I wasn't- I'd be too afraid of the bad juju that PP mentioned (not to mention it's not fair and all that jazz). Fortunately, my doctor rocks and basically let me say when I felt comfortable enough to switch to the doppler. That was pretty much just this last appointment.
