alrightyy so im taking my glucose test tomorrow morning but im not sure what i should eat, the doctor told me some things i could eat like an egg but that doesnt sound too appealing.
soo what can i eat without all the sugars and such?!
Honestly, I wouldnt eat anything if you can avoid it.
My appt. was at 9am and the nurses told me to eat normally but to avoid sugary cereals for breakfast. The recommendations were toast with butter or a half a bagel with cream cheese. I was too nervous to load up on carbs so I literally had a cheese stick and two Triscuits...and still failed.
A lot of offices recommend fasting for two hours before the test, so it can't hurt! GL.
If it is the 1 hour then I was told to just eat normal. You can't trick the test so there is no reason to go out of your way to do so. Just eat what you want and hope for the best.

Agreed! I failed the 1 hr and only had toast w/ DS but did pass my 3 hr.
I ate pasta and lentils the night before and then for breakfast I ate a whole grain bagel with cream cheese. I just took mine yesterday, so I don't know what my score was. I opted out of the glucose drink and did an alternative with 16 oz OJ and 1 banana.
Doula, mama and student prego with number 2. Yay!

I didn't eat anything before my one-hour and still failed it, but I passed the three-hour. However, I was supposed to take the test earlier but didn't realize it and had eaten Cinnamon Toast Crunch beforehand; they wouldn't let me take it.
I had my 2nd 1 hour test yesterday (diabetes runs in my family so they did the first one at 15 weeks and the second at 28). Both times I ate two scrambled eggs with salt/pepper and drank water. It didn't sound appealing, but I really didn't want to fail because of what I ate, so it was worth it. The paper that they gave me said that eggs were a good option.
And, when I got home, I ate a brownie and a muffin ;-)
Good luck!

I had turkey bacon and an egg and passed the 1 hr. I would stay away from cereal, bagels, and anything with a ton of carbs.
Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Mine is tomorrow morning, as well, and was advised to fast for three hours prior. It's at 8:40am, so that won't be hard, but the downside is that Taco Bell still won't be open by time I'm finished with the test . Good luck tomorrow!

I had mine done yesterday and had to fast after midnight. My test was at 9:15 for the 2 hour. I took food along with me for afterwards and made sure to drink plenty of water before. I had one scheduled 2 weeks ago but did not know I was allowed to drink water. (They had told me NO drinks or food after midnight...including gum and hard candy items like mints) Well, at that one, I was so dehydrated that they couldn't even get any blood at all b/c they couldn't find my vein. I ended up almost fainting and had to reschedule for yesterday. Well, I failed it yesterday and now have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I'm not sure why I failed it, but I just now need to start eating better and have to do the urine test at home and the finger stick 4 times a day. At least I only have 12 weeks left!!
I had mine a few weeks ago and was told not to eat or drink anything besides water from midnight before. Anything you eat or drink can alter the results of your test so I would avoid anything if you can (I know its hard lol).
Good Luck!

I had an egg before the first test and I had ketchup on it (which I realized later actually has a bit of sugar in it). I failed the 1 hr. I go in tomorrow for the 3 hr. I borrowed DH's spare meter and tested fasting which was 94 and 30 mins after breakfast and it came out 108. I hope that means I will pass my 3 hr.
I had mine this morning at 8:30am. I didn't eat breakfast. I started fasting after dinner last night, which was at 7pm. I ate a big dinner so I wasn't too hungry. Plus, the drink will really fill you up. I did the same with DS and I passed so I'm hoping I will pass again. **fingers crossed**

i ate one piece of toast with peanut butter. also had a cup of coffee with no sugar in it. i passed. go off what ur doctor suggests. not eating could skew the test along with eating the wrong thing.
