Baby name issue

I posted the other day that we're thinking about the name Alexander Richard for DS2.  Richard is my DH's grandfather's middle name, who passed away this spring.  No matter what first name we choose, Richard will be the middle name.

So silly me didn't realize until last night that if we chose this name, DS's initials would be ARM.  Is this a deal-breaker on the name?  Luckily it doesn't spell anything horrible, but what do you think?

Re: Baby name issue

  • I think you should name him what you want to. Initials were low on my list of deal breakers, and yours doesn't spell anything ridiculous or profane.

  • A.S.S. = is a possible deal breaker. A.R.M.= is not. At least not in my book. Go with the name you love.

  • My dh initials are CAB, he loves his initials!  If I were your ds2 I would like that my initials spell ARM.

  • My oldest DD's initials are BOB.  I did think about it but really didn't have another middle name that would work for us.  Right now she thinks it's funny.

  • The only time it would be a deal breaker for me is if it spelled out an obscenity.
  • Bennett's initials spell BAD.  It did occur to us, but we liked his name and didn't want to change it.  I would not worry about ARM at all.
