MFM?

What does this mean? I thought I knew all the bump lingo but this one has me stumped

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    Interesting. My NT was done in my doc's office. I suppose it matters who has the equipment available.

    But in general, I wouldn't want to have to spend much time in an MFM office, it if could be avoided.

  • My NT was actually at an IVF place, oddly.

    I got really chummy with the MFM doctors, it's a scary place to be in.

  • Isn't an MFM the same thing as a perinatologist? TIA

    Yep. That's who I went to see for the second opinion of the anencephaly dx. He had specialized u/s equipment that could provide much better pictures of his head than the NT scan u/s could provide.


    BFP #1 via IUI ~ L (Fatal Birth Defect) 4/7/10
    BFP #2 via IUI ~ m/c
    BFP #3 via cancelled IUI ~ C (2lb 3oz; HELLP) 5/16/11
    BFP #4 via the natural (free!) way ~ E (8lb 11oz) 9/13/12
