Babies: 6 - 9 Months

foodprocessor?

I have been giving the baby Beechnut baby food-stage 2. My daycare person told me I should get a food processor to offer other kinds of food to DD. Just curious if others use one and if so do you like doing it, do you find it easier or better than buying the baby food? I have to be honest, buying the beechnut is easy and she likes it...so I'm kind of hesitant to start changing things-maybe I'm just being silly and lazy--does it take a lot of effort or time?TIA

Re: foodprocessor?

  • i so far have only made my babies baby food. it really takes no time at all and is so much more cost effective than buying canned food.

all i do is steam/cook the veggie or fruit and i use an immersion blender to puree it in the pot. i then just put the food in an ice cube tray (i have one that has a lid to it it's by fresh baby) freeze the cubes and then i pop them out into a labelled ziploc into the freezer.

    i find www.wholesomebabyfood.com incredibly helpful.

  • I use a food mill or our blender more than the food processor. I am currently making all stage 1 and some stage 2 fruits and veggies.....its very easy and feels good to be making LO's food :)
