1st RE appt. today!

so even though my throat is still killing me i made it to my appt.

we went over mine and DH's health history and our options.  We discussed what testing we'll have done to make sure theres nothing else wrong.  so here's the testing:

DH - SA on 1/3/11

ME: HSG, FSH, AFC and AMH

i also had a u/s today for the antral follicle count (AFC).  i was praying my count would be decent and the doc seemed pleased.  i had about 11 on my left side and about 5 on my right.  My winner egg for this cycle was 17.5mm so i think i'll be O'ing in the next few days.  I guess she was expecting my AFC to be lower and explained that sometimes our bodies don't respond well to FSH so maybe in my case i just need alittle more to get things moving.  Of course we may know more once i get all the initial tests done.  It made me feel alittle better about things.

she also gave me a script for extra folic acid, baby aspirin and progesterone.  i forgot to ask her if i'm supposed to use it this cycle so i'll have to ask her.  My brain was so overwhelmed i didn't ask hardly any questions.  I was pleased w/ the appt. and so glad i got to have the u/s done today!  at least one test done!  Now i just hope and pray for good news on the others.

Sounds like a great appt!  Your AFC is really good.  This cycle was the only time I had mine checked and I only had 6 so you are definitely in good shape there.  I would think you could start the folic acid and aspirin right away, but the progesterone should definitely be after O (obviously check with the RE on this though). 

Good luck with the other tests!  Hope you get some answers soon.

Thanks ladies.  i just need to get over this illness.  i think if my throat isn't better by tomorrow i'm calling the doc.  i hate to have to go on an antibiotic though especially right at O time.  so we'll see.

That's great that you got some good news. Feel better!  Try not to worry about the antibiotic, just tell them you want something safe during pregnancy just in case.

So glad you had a good experience at the RE & that you've got a plan in action!  Really hope that your nice follie this month does the trick, though.
