The CDC has released their preliminary date for US births in 2009. The cesarean rate rose for the 13th straight year to 32.9%. This is nearly a 60% increase from 1996. For women age 40 and over, half of all births were by cesarean.
No info on the VBAC rate yet but I'm sure it will be low.

This is SO frustrating!!!! Why, why?!?!?! It doesn't help that so many people are not educated or informed (my parents, to name a couple). People who are easily influenced by others or don't research for themselves will end up in the CS boat over and over.
So glad I don't give a darn about what anyone else thinks or tells me;-)
