QOTW BR:  With all of the family that people will be seeing this year, I?d say that we should be ready for some ?belly molesters?.  Do you already have stories about people that have grabbed your belly or said something entirely inappropriate?  Let?s hear them?   

 

QOTW NBR:  What are your plans for Christmas this year?  Going out of town, or having the family in?  Give us the fun/stressful details!

QOTW BR: Apparently, my bump isn't big enough yet for people to be confident that I am pregnant (I say this because if I mention that I am pregnant to someone at work or something, they will say, "Okay... I didn't know if you were or not.").  So, I haven't had the fun times of having people grab my belly yet.  I am soooo looking forward to that.  I did get a question the other day that kind of blew my mind.  When I mentioned that I was pregnant to my dental hygienist, she said, "Oh, that's nice... Was it planned?"  Um, okay?  I didn't know what to say, so I just said, "Yep.  Down to the day."   

QOTW NBR: My family lives about 15 minutes away from us, but my DH's lives 4 hours away!  So, we generally go to his family's house for Christmas every year.  We both have time off work, and we don't get to see them very much, so I am okay with it.  We are having my family's christmas tomorrow evening.  Currently, I am up to my ears in cookie dough and frosting!!  I am baking "goodie" trays for friends and family.

Awww - you're so sweet.  I was just buzzing through here on my way to the Preemies board and saw the check-in.

I'm doing great.  Was released from the hospital on Saturday and I am recovering well from the C-section.  I hadn't gained much weight with the pregnancy so I'm already back to my pre-pregnancy weight (and I don't lose weight quickly) - although still flabby.

Kevin is doing well overall of course with some ups and downs.  They did an ultrasound of his brain on Friday for signs of bleeding (very common in 26 weekers) and his came back fine so that is a huge relief.  We have a website set up that I update with his progress - PM me your email if you want access.

QOTW BR:  Does not apply - never really showed enough that people caught on about the pregnancy.

QOTW NBR:  Christmas plans are still up in the air at this point.  I want to see family but I can't really handle any questions without getting emotional so we may sit out this Christmas - just spend the bulk of the day with Kevin in the NICU.

I won't be back here much but if anyone wants to keep in touch - page me on Preemies or PM me.  I wish you all the best of luck with the remainder of your pregnancies.  I hope you all have healthy, full term babies!  I'll miss you guys!

QOTW NBR:  What are your plans for Christmas this year?  Going out of town, or having the family in?  Give us the fun/stressful details! Going to stay with my IL's while visiting my step kids! I love my IL's really they are awesome. I am really looking forward to seeing my step kids. I don't like the stress that comes along with travel and presents and cooking. 

 

*Bonus question: What is/are your favorite holiday song(s)? I am the Grinch I do not like Christmas time. Christmas music drives me nuts. I am not about it being Jesus' birthday but the overall greediness and fake "giving spirit".

I'm glad things are going well. I hope Kevin continues to have a speedy recovery. Do you have any idea when he will be able to come home? I hope you have a merry Christmas.

BR- I look very pg so I've had the pleasure of a number of belly molesters. I think I have a good rule of thumb for people. "If you wouldn't hug me normally, don't touch me." Its more of a personal space thing for me.

NRB - No real xmas plans as we don't celebrate. I will be off for a week though which is nice and we're taking DD to see micky on ice which is going to be fun.

I really haven't been touched much.  I think the outside world isn't sure whether I'm pregnant or fat.  I think the most attention I got was about a week ago when I hosted a cookie exchange.  One not very close friend kept touching me, but for the most part people just talk to me without touching.  I see my MIL this weekend.  I'm curious to see what she will be like.  She calls my baby "our baby" and is really excited.  I don't mind being touched by family or close friends.

We are leaving tomorrow night for Atlanta to spend Christmas with DH's family.  It should be quiet since it will just be MIL, FIL, DH and me.  My MIL wants to take me to some baby boutiques and definitely go shopping.  I'm looking forward to it!  We haven't been around any family since our announcement since everyone lives out of state.  I love going to Atlanta and I think it's going to be a great trip!

Hey lady!  So good to hear from you... What a great update on Kevin... So glad that he is doing well.

I definitely wouldn't blame you for wanting to lay low during the holidays.  I could see how that would be easier than dealing with family.  Have a good Christmas!  We'll miss you around here.
