I wanted to change something in my siggy and I looked through the new bio and profile layout for like 10 minutes before giving up and googling it to find the answer. Pain in the ass...

FYI for anyone else as confused as me: click "edit my avatar" in the top left corner, above your avatar image.

so now our siggy codes are in part of our avatar?

Kind of - if you click the change my avatar button, a box pops up where you can change your avatar image and siggy code. I have no idea why they linked the two!
