Anyone who has had a blood clot?

I got a DVT in my left leg during my first pregnancy @ 29 weeks.  Thinking about getting pregnant again...anyone else in the same boat?

I had no clotting disorder, just a narrow vein that was compressed by the weight of the baby.

Did you do blood thinners again? Did you wear compression stockings?

Yep, I'm in the exact same boat.  I had a stent put in to keep the compressed vein open.  Did you get your vein stented?

Yes, I'm on blood thinners and I'm wearing my compression stocking everyday.  Also, drinking tons of water and trying to do some form of exercise everyday.

How long ago was your clot?

I didn't have a DVT, but I had a blood clot that formed in my heart and resulted in a myocardial infarction (heart attack).  Despite different specialists, they have never been able to determine why the blood clot formed.  I was on coumadin and have been allowed to go off of it for pregnancy - I now use Lovenox.  I also have to take aspirin for the rest of my life (but am only on baby aspirin during pregnancy).  I wear compression stockings if I am driving for over an hour/etc.  I get up and move around if I am sitting for more than an hour.  The heart attack was 2 1/2 years ago, so I have been "working" towards pregnancy ever since.  The first thing I said when I woke up in the ICU was "Can I still have children"?  I guess that was on my mind (I had been undecided up until that point, but that answered that question!).  I am VERY thankful for my cardiologist!!!
