Carpal Tunnel :(

I guess these are some of the things I never knew could be possible with pregnancy. First I started with really bad pains in my upper thigh, buttox area, in which I couldn't even sit down. It was horrible to sleep and would numb out my whole arm. I came to find out that it was my sciatic nerve having pressure on it due to my little girl. I thought nothing of it. I would manage to move and shift my body so she would reposition herself and the pain would ease up.Though lately I noticed my hands have gotten progressively worse with major numbness, tingling sensation and a horrible pain throughout my fingers. Bad enough that the kids don't wake me up at night but my hands do. Last night had to have been the worst night ever with my hands and the pain has not gotten better throughout the day. I knew something was not right. Doctors only recommendation is to purchase wrist splints to help alleviate the pain. Oh joy! Not the worse thing in the world but as uncomfortable as I've been lately, last thing I need is this to be another issue. I hope once I deliver these babies, the carpal tunnel issue goes away or I will not know how to even hold them. I have no sensation in my hands at this moment.

  • Hang in there, you are almost there!! CTS is common in pregnancy, I also experienced it with my 2nd and it's no fun. The good news was that it did go away for me after delivery! Hope you are doing well otherwise...you are doing great carrying 2 little ones in there!! ;)

  • I'm so so sorry that it's THAT bad! The numbing and tingles in my hands actually happened to me a couple of times and I've freaked out every time. I've heard it's normal though, I'm sure once you deliver this stuff will go away. Hang in there! You're ALMOST there!

  • Oh no! Sorry it's so bad. I hope it goes away after delivery; I've read that it does.
  • My arms get like this when I carry something that isn't super light or if I lay on my arms wrong. Using a warm compress or heating pad on your arm will help. You can also take Tylenol for it. Also you can take a hot shower and alternate hot and cold water on your arms. I think mine is from circulation issues, it only happens in my arms from shoulder to fingertips and I can't stand the pain sometimes. Hope you feel better!
