After 8 months, I've packed away the pump. YAY!!!!
Now, we are using up the freezer supply and mixing in some formula. I had two small can's of enfamil in the pantry that I got for free so I've been using that with no problems.
Is there any reason for me not to just get the big can of Sam's brand formula? I just can't see why I HAVE to get name brand and I'd love to save the money? C is not a picky fella, he's never had problems with gas, reflux, etc.
Thoughts?
Re: Choosing a formula
Oh my - the bump is SLOW!
I started off with Enfamil b/c that was what I had the most free samples of. I then switched to Similac (again, more free samples). I preferred the Enfamil b/c it didn't seem to smell as bad. Then, after I was buying it for awhile, I got smart and started getting the Target Brand (Up and Up). We had no problems with it, and it was SO much cheaper.
Also - wanted to comment on you mixing the BM and formula. I wouldn't recommend it because if he doesn't finish it all, you essentially have to trash it b/c of the formula in it (formula doesn't keep as long as BM). I would give the BM first (maybe half of the feeding), then give him the other half in formula after he finishes that - and if he doesn't finish the formula, at least you don't feel like you are wasting your liquid gold! ;-)
Luca was picky picky (imgine that) and only wanted Enfamil...
Lila didn't care. We use the Target brand and saved a ton. Our pedi says to use the cheapest thing your child will accept.
