I'm not. I've already birthed two babies, and basically had a c-section. I'm having a c/s this time around, so no. I'm not.
I will sign us up for infant CPR, however. I should probably get on that!
Twin boys born too early at 17w4d and 18w2d in February 2010
Transabdominal cerclage placed September 2010
DS born at 35w1d in February 2011
Twin girls born at exactly 36w in February 2013
We're not. We are taking a Newborn Basics class and an Infant CPR class, but I don't feel watching birthing videos around a bunch of happy, naive pregnant women will do anything to calm my mental state.
We're not taking any classes. No breastfeeding, no birthing, no basics. They're way too expensive for us, to be honest. I might consider taking an infant CPR class, but we'll have to see about that. DH & I aren't really "class people" either.
I just don't see the point in them, really. I'm going to read a couple of books on breathing/laboring techniques, maybe watch a couple of dvds. I'm a big fan of self-education and feel I can really learn a lot on my own. Plus if I need help with breastfeeding, I can always ask a lactation consultant in the hospital. Or any of my friends.
I'm not either. I didn't take any classes with DD either. Everything I was ever "taught" or told about labor went out the window. lol I just went with the flow of things.
The only class we plan to take is a breastfeeding class.
I don't think we'll really benefit from a labor class, and DH and I (well mostly me) have been around infants our entire lives. We know how to change a diaper and swaddle the kid. There are a lot better uses for our money and time.

DH and I are "class" people, but honestly, I kind of wish we'd saved our $$ with the childbirth class. The thing is they talk in such general terms since every woman/pg is different that you pretty much have to talk specifics with your doc anyway. And general info...I felt like most of what was covered, I'd already learned reading a couple pg books and hanging out here.
I do have a friend who said that in hindsight she wishes she'd have taken a breastfeeding class, so she thought it was good when I told her I'm signed up to take one in a few weeks. We did the infant CPR class, which I thought was good (but I've never had CPR training where I got to practice on a dummy) but DH thought was kind of redundant (he'd been through CPR training twice).
We're also planning to take the infant care class, just b/c of limited experience with babies. But the childbirth class...yeah, you're probably OK to skip that one.

We're not taking a birthing class, because well, I don't want to hear about having a vaginal delivery when I never will. We are taking a newborn care class though.
I'm not and have felt like a Debbie Downer this whole pregnancy. I just don't want to go and have to see women with their husbands and boyfriends and be reminded yet again how alone I am in this. Pity party for one.
