any suggestions for potty training?

I am having the WORST time getting my kids potty trained at night. They caught on during the day time just like that! No time at all...night time is a completely different story!! We have tried the "no drinks after a certain time" and waking them up at night to go to the bathroom(which is almost impossible they are extremely heavy sleepers so when I try to wake them up its like they aren't really awake and they have no idea what i'm trying to get them to do) My DS will sleep right though wetting the bed and not wake up til morning, my daughter will wake up and want her bed sheets changed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

  • No real ideas here.  #1 is PT'd but we put pull-ups on at night since he's a heavy sleeper too.  I don't see this changing anytime soon!

  • I thought that night time training wasn't something that could be trained but just something they grow into...For DD that was 3.75 and DS did it when he day time trained at 2.5.  How old are your DDs?  I would only be worried if they were 5+

  • My oldest will be 5 on Tuesday, and he still wears a pull-up at night.  We've tried going without, but he soaks his bed and doesn't even wake up.  He's been daytime trained for 2.5 years now.  His pediatrician says her kids were like that, too, so for the most part I don't worry about it.

  • Night training is totally different and separate from day training.  SOme kids take years after being day trained to get it.  I would put your kids in pull-up or if older, into the older version of a pull-up and let them be.  I know most doctors don't worry about night training for many years.  My 7 year old niece has accidents at night every so often still and sleeps in the big kid pull-up things.  My nephew was close to 10 before he got it as he is a super deep sleeper - they ended up using an alarm type thing that went off really loud whenever he would start to pee.
