For DH, I didn't. He could easily set it up himself and liked doing it. This year we got one for MIL (and my brother). I'm gonna set MIL's up if I can without a credit card including downloading a bunch of samples of books I think she'd like. We're not doing anything for my brother. We're also getting MIL a case and a GC for amazon to get her started.
No. It takes under a minute to search for and download a book...let him do it.
Dh set mine up so he could load a custom document. What he didn't realize was that he had to set it up under my email address (so it would be linked to my account for future purchases) and they started sending me emails about it after that. He had no idea they would do that (the same day he set it up) and it spoiled his surprise.

For MH, no. He'd want to do it himself.
But I would like him to do it for me because I don't like to fuss with technical stuff. I'd rather just have it working straight away.
Me with my littlest.
