Maternity Chothes...

I have bought a few things at Target & Old Navy but does it seem to anyone else that maternity clothes are not worth the price they are asking for them? Some of them are really not that cute at all!! And nearly $30 for a very light weight long sleeve tee just seems crazy to me!!!

Anyone find any good deals on anything anywhere lately? I dont mind spending money on clothes I know are going to fit for a while but I have no clue how long I'll fit into each size of maternity clothing!!

Re: Maternity Chothes...

  • I shop clearance at Motherhood Maternity and Kohls.  I find most maternity clothes hideous and ridiculously overpriced

  • Gap has some good sale stuff and I find that their clothing washes and wears well for the price.  Buy a few good staples, black pants, jeans, shirts and really that is all you need.

I also went to Macys and get non maternity sweater dresses that were not expensive at all and pair them with different color leggings giving me many more comfy outfits.

  • Motherhood Maternity has had the best sales that I can find.  If you don't have a MM near you, chances are that there is a Macy's nearby that rents space to them and you can find some sweet deals there (like pants for $14.99 and tops for $9.99 - I even got a dress for 10 bucks).

I also have shopped clearance at other stores and just bought sweaters and things that are a size or two too large that will stretch (make sure by buy long tops as well since your bump will shorten their length!)  Good luck :-)

  • Shop clearance at the Gap or Old Navy. A lot of times they will have a % off already reduced prices!

  • Kohl's is where I have the best luck. I also got some from target that were clearanced. I also got a ton of clothes from one of my dh coworkers. I also had some empire shirts that seem to work right now. I still wear pants with my be band and a large sweater or shirt.

  • Most of my stuff is from Motherhood.  The last time I went shopping, they had lots of shirts that were in the $10-$20 range, and all of my pants were $40 or less.

  • So far, I really only like pants from A Pea in the Pod.  My pants are so much more comfortable than my other pants from Khols and Ann Taylor Loft Maternity.  I actually can't say nice things about Khols clothing- mainly becuase they are not comfortable, but I also did'nt see any items that really liked. I do find A Pea in the Pod expensive, so I have only purchased items that were on sale or promo.

  • Kohls for mat jeans and pants. I've had great luck with long, accommodating tops and sweaters at Express and they've been having some great sales.

  • also online...  www.babysteals.com

zulily ...  also has adorable baby clothes.

    and www.gilt.com

in interest of full disclosure... if you buy anything for the middle one, I get credit but that's not why I told you.  I really like all of their maternity wear and it's less expensive.  :)  Lilac jeans are my Favorite!!!!

  • If you have a Burlington Coat Factory around you, that's where a lot of mine have come from and they're good prices. They may have an online store too.
  • I've got a TON from eBay & Craig's List- can not beat the price & I don't mine used (especially for such a short amount of time) I've also hit up Goodwill & other thrift stores where it's hit or miss & like stepping into a time warp from when my mother was pregnant with me 31 years ago :)

  • JC Penney, Kohl's, and believe it or not walmart on-line.
  • I've just been stalking the sale portion of the Gap and Old Navy websites. I went into Motherhood Maternity on Friday and was not impressed with the selection, with the exception of a pair of jeans I bought.

  • agreed that GAP has great sale mat items that are good quality I think.  I also felt like Motherhood Maternity was really bad quality clothes.  I love Pea in the pod but only for clearance stufff cause it is SUPER overpriced. I guess ya gotta pay a price to look good. :)

  • I got some shirts from Khols,,,,all under 10 dollars... Wait until after x-mas

  • I bought 2 pair of maternity pants at Kohl's for a total of $60, then went to a second hand shop called Other Mothers and got 6 shirts, a great pair of jeans and black dress pants for a total of $40!! Maybe you can find a store like that.

  • I agree with Motherhood Maternity! I haven't bought many shirts, but I have bought pants just recently. I got about 4 pairs (jeans & for work) and all of them were under $29.

  • google search some resale shops in your area for maternity clothes.  I found some really nice pants and skirts at resale shop.  Maternity clothes are so expensive to expensive for the short time we will be wearing them.
  • This is my 4th pregnancy and I only buy maternity from Pea in the Pod and boutique brands for the bulk and basics that I will wear to death from Motherhood. Target and Old Navy stuff is cheaply made and doesn't hold up for the duration. Gap is cute and trendy, but poorly designed. It's just not comfortable for the duration.  The only thing about higher end maternity clothing is it tends to run smaller. They fit like nothing else and hold up to wear and that makes them worth it to me.
