Cloth Diapering

CD Detergent

There's so much to learn still about CDs for a newb like me. I'm trying to figure out about cloth wipes (should I order or make them?), and other supplies I need (trash can, liner, spray???). Argh.

Now for detergent, is there one that you recommend for washing the CDs or do you have to use a different one for each brand?

I have Rumparoos, BG and FBs right now...and a few Kissaluvs. TIA!

Re: CD Detergent

  • No, you don't need a different detergent for each brand. Please don't make it that hard!

    I use Rockin Green.

  • I'm sure they can all be washed together after being prepped. If the kissaluvs are cotton/hemp fitteds they need to be prepped seperately, then everything can be washed together regularly.

I use Country Save, but here is a list of detergents. It's a good go-to list b/c it states the offending ingredients that some detergents have, so you know what to look out for.

  • We use Rockin Green and love it. Never any stink or build-up issues.

  • I go with the detergent that works for the most picky type of cloth diaper. For me it's the BGs- no enzymes, brighteners, fragrance- or the warranty is void. The others would all be fine in Tide HE Original scent but I use Rockin' Green for them all because it works for the most particular type.
  • We started out using Charlie's soap. I wanted to love it, but it was not getting our diapers clean. They still stunk after washing with 2x the recommended amount of soap. I had to do an overnight soak in Rockin green and switch over to RNG. I think this beat the microfiber stink.

  • We're planning to use Rockin' Green... we washed all of the baby laundry in it already and hope it works well for the diapers.

  • I use Crunchy Clean. We had a horrible rash reaction to Rockin' Green, and I never felt like it got the smell out either.
