What to serve with NE Clam Chowder

I am having Christmas at my house but MIL insisted on bringing NE ClamChowder as the main course.  I am at a loss as to what else to serve with it.  She usually makes reuban sandwhiches to go with it but no one likes the reubans except for her..

I was thinking maybe a grilled ham and cheese sandwhich but I am not sure...What do you think would go well with the clamchowder?

    super yummy baked bread-especially sourdough and of course lots of butter.

    I think of soup as an appetizer. I would prepare a main dish and serve the soup beforehand with bread.

    Honestly, I LOVE soup and eat it for lunch almost daily and DH and often have it for dinner, but I'd be pretty disappointed if that was Christmas dinner. We'd be done with dinner in about 15 minutes.

    Along the bread/roll line you can make biscuits and they have ones with all kinds of add-ins like chedder cheese, sausage, chives, etc... and I would serve a salad too and think that would be a very nice meal.
