Help a crockpot virgin out

Just picked one up for myself yesterday.

I bought "stew meat", I have carrots, celery, onion, and lots of different spices.  I have no beef broth or potatoes.  Could you share your easy crockpot recipe? I can always run out for something else if need be. Thanks!

I typically wing it.  Throw the stew meat and water in the crock pot.  Carrots, should be layered on the bottom too cook faster.  I would go get some beef bullion if you have none though.  Maybe a can of diced tomatoes.

If you're going to start using a crock pot, there's a nestie (or knottie, it was a long time ago) easy crock pot recipe compilation floating around somewhere.  Maybe someone has it?

Do you have any packets of gravy mix? If so, You can throw in all your ingredients/spices and cover with water. Then when everything is done cooking, use some of the stew juice to mix your gravy (in place of the water it calls for -- and needs to be in separate dish so you can whisk it together). Then just pour the gravy into the crockpot and you're done!
