Duuuude that sucks. Tis the season for unexpected expenses! My car died yesterday. Gah!
Hey... Not that I'm a stalker or anything (or maybe I am ). Did you say you have your P&C license? Or am I thinking of someone else? If that's your can you tell me if its a pita to take?
If it was a true mathmatical error, I would look for a new one. But he simply dropped a 1. Instead of $19057, he put $9057. Simple COSTLY mistake! but we have been going to him for as long as we have been dating (since 1999) and he's a great guy and great at what he does. It was a mistake and I'm ticked off but at the situation in general. I do think he could have APOLOGIZED, which he didn't. He was pretty nonchalant about it and THAT makes me mad at him.
Yes, I have my P&C license. I had 2 weeks of intense classroom training and then took it. To do it on my own, w/out the classroom instruction -- not sure I would have passed. If you have that kind of set up (instruction, etc), it should be fine. I took, and passed, my Series 6. P&C was a breeze over that.
ooh, I would be steamed. Talk about lack of attention to detail-and you've been loyal customers for over 10 years? I'd consider dropping him. Or threaten to so he at least apologizes. That's crazy.

He is supposed to call me back because he thinks the amount should be about $400 less than what they are calculating. WHOOPEE! We are talking $3k here...what's $400 in the grand scheme of things!!
I'm not sure I would be willing to start all over with a new accountant over this. If it was just Joe and I and our regular income taxes, sure. But there is a business involved here -- one that he has been doing the taxes for for years. It would be a huge PITA, I think, to switch at this point.
I really hope he apologizes when he calls back. We'll see.
