Nightmares have started for DD

She's had a few moments in the past, but 2x this week already she has woken up crying about a bad dream.  I don't know if she is elaborating a little on what happened, but she said there was a zombie in her room.

Is this the age (4ish) that nightmares often start up?  Not sure if you can 'generalize' kids having nightmares, but DD has really gotten into pretend/ imaginary play, so I imagine she has a very active imagination and it could be a factor.

Poor kid.. I had some issues when I was little, I had horrible nightmares all the time, and I remember I slept in my mom's room in a special sleeping bag all the time.

Re: Nightmares have started for DD

  • My DH travels a lot and it's given my DD nightmares (she's 3). She wakes up crying saying Daddy is gone, Daddy is missing. :( I usually just try to comfort her and tell her it's ok, tell her where he is and when he's coming home. She also has one about a purple pig that's mean, so we have our dog come in and scare him away by having him "look under the bed" and in her closet.
