I am taking an online class (my last one! YAY!) toward my Masters degree in Middle School Math. I have taken most of the courses online two or three per year, over the past few years. I am someone who is very careful (within the realm of schoolwork) about proofreading my work and double checking spelling, reference rules, etc... Apparently I am in the minority. I swear this class is chock full of people who refuse to use spell/grammar check, or even proofread for that matter! It makes me crazy! It would be one thing if we were in an informal chat board like this, but in a professional discussion forum, you have to at least TRY to look like you know how to write/speak.
Last semester I agreed to help a classmate out by checking some papers that she had gotten poor grades on?I was amazed at the writing. I have had fifth graders that can write better than this?and when I made comments for her to consider when revising her paper, she said ?I just can?t figure it out?.
REALLY?
And these people will finish with a Masters Degree in EDUCATION?WHAT?
Okay, rant over
