Did you already get your stocking stuffers?

If you have already bought them, what did you get to put in them? I think I am done but I want to see what others are doing to see if there is any last minute stuff to put in.

  • My girls--a bath bomb, pens, small notebooks (they love writing), My oldest a Taylor swift CD.  My other DD, a Wii game, candy, fruit, slipper socks, regular socks, underwear (weird family tradition...)

My son--crayons, silly putty, Wii game, candy, fruit, bear slippers, socks, underwear. Sing-a-ma-jig.

  • Apple or Orange for the toe and a magazine for the "leg" part.  Then I fill it w/ travel size stuff, perfume samples, socks/tights, candy, and some small gifts like a ds game or something.

  • I used to agonize over stocking stuffers.  Two Christmases ago, I realized that my kids hardly cared or remembered what they got in their stockings.  By the time they get through the Santa gifts and the stuff from the rest of the family, they could care less about the stockings.  AND I was getting so much stuff for the stockings that the stockings wouldn't even hang on our cute stocking hangers!!

So last year I limited stocking gifts to a few packs of Pokemon cards, various candy and dried fruit, and an orange each in the toe.  No one knew or cared that the stockings didn't have much.  I kept my total stocking budget to around $10 a kid.  Honestly, this worked out much better. This year I expanded a little because both kids needed a new pair of scissors at school, and DD wanted some cool toenail polish.  But I am still mostly filling stockings with candy and fruit.

  • I only have a girl and she's a "girly-girl".  I stick with nail polish, make up, sticky nails, bath fizzers, bubble bath, nice comb/brush, headbands, ponytail holders, etc.  Sometimes I throw in gift cards and this year I'm getting her a nice, soft scarf from the Gap.
