Adhesive Drawer Lock Help Please!

-->

Anyone have Adhesive Drawer Locks?  I'd like to put a few in my bathroom and in DD's room, and I don't want to screw into the furniture.

The bathroom is just my hair stuff and my makeup, so it's not a safety issue, just something I'd rather she stay out of.  The bedroom  drawers have just clothes andI don't want her pulling everything out of them every night.

DD is getting a bed this weekend (unless it snows) and I'm looking for something to help us babyproof the upstairs a bit better.  Anyone have any adhesive drawer locks they like?  Anyone have any other suggestions that won't ruin the furniture?

  • You can go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get industrial grade velcro.  That should keep a small toddler out of things without screwing a lock in to the furniture.

    However, once she is strong enough to open it, you may need to upgrade to a child safety lock anyway.

    You could also try addressing the handles instead with something like this

    Good luck!

  • We just used heavy duty Velcro strapping on the handles to sink doors where the chemicals are. Otherwise, we just kept the bathroom or MBR doors closed and taught them to stay out of the stuff they should stay out of. It's worked pretty well so far.

  • We use the ones from onestepahead.com and they work great.  We do check them every now and then to make sure they are still secure, but thus far only one has lost it's grip, and it was because the ADULTS in the house pushed it off the tape, lol.  I think they work fine but you do have to keep checking them and replace any that do lose the adhesive backing.  We've used ours for over a year thus far.
